Again!

I know, I know. I just had a book release, but these things sometimes happen. Out today, Lost Souls Found! Book 2 in the Requiem Inc series.

I’m having to work a crap ton of overtime, but that doesn’t stop the excitement of release day!

Beholden is out now!

Julian Thomas made the unpopular decision to become Beholden and focus his magic only on scrying. Because of it, he’s the best at his job and the top scryer for the Department of Extranormal and Magical Affairs. Which why Investigations Agent Wes Caldwell goes right to Julian for help locating a missing person.

Okay so it’s been awhile! And part of that is due to the crazy insane past couple of weeks I’ve had. So! I’m here to give you the low down on what’s been happening with me.

So first things first: the day job has gone nuts. I won’t go into all the details, but there’s a new system that doesn’t work right and it’s been a hot mess from the beginning. The upside to that is I’m getting paid overtime, but the downside is that I have to actually work the overtime and that leaves my poor brain a mush pile. It’s why there was no Flash Fic last week and why there won’t be one this week either. I’m hoping I’ll be back on track next week and speaking of…

Usually, my flash fics feature the MCs from my new releases, but see, here’s the thing. Both my releases this upcoming week–Beholden is out on Saturday the 14th and Lost Souls Found is out Tuesday the 17th–are part of a series. Separate series, but still. So Flash Fics don’t really work with them, especially Beholden. But Asher and Kyle aren’t quite done yet, I’m thinking they have two more episodes in them, so hopefully next Friday (the 20th) I’ll bring you the next installment.

So of course, there are releases! Beholden is out in just three days, and you can get it early here at JMS if you’d like. Come Saturday, it’ll be in the usual places and I’ll post links then. And then on Tuesday the 17th Lost Souls Found is out, and that one you can get here at DSP. Again, more links when they are live.  I’m super excited about both of these, and there’s at least one more book in both series, and probably 2, but I don’t want to say too much at this point. But yeah, these books have been a labor of love, and I’m hoping you’ll get a chance to pick them up.

On the writing front there’s other news! Nell and I have been making huge progress on the first book in our first series (oh there are plans!) though it’s temporarily stalled because of my evil day job. The next chapter is mine to write, and I’m really really hoping I’ll get it done this weekend. (If I don’t have to work extra hours that is). The boys are calling to me, especially because of what happens in the next chapter, and boy do I want to let them have their fun.

On the solo front, I’m getting started on a story for a sub call that I’m super excited about that has a deadline. So I’m hoping to make progress on that soon as well. It’s the first one on my rough schedule to write over the rest of the year and if all goes according to plan, it’ll be out at the beginning of next year

I’ve been letting myself get overwhelmed by stuff lately, and I think it’s just the nature of what all has been going on, so I’m focusing on one thing at time. Or two, as the case may be. Two releases, two WIPs. But I’m trying, at the moment, not to think too far ahead. It’s working for now, and I expect it to yield some great words!
